I served as a National office partner in the Accounting Services Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), based in Florham Park, NJ. Roles included the Team Leader for the Income Taxes group, as well as the industry liaison to the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences sector. Since rejoining the National office in 1993, I authored much of the Firm's internal policy guidance and external publications related to accounting for income tax accounting (FAS 109 or ASC 740) and revenue recognition. I also regularly assisted engagement teams and clients in addressing complex accounting issues and in resolving matters with the Securities and Exchange Commission. My primary focus was revenue and taxes, but I also consulted on a variety of other topics under both US GAAP and IFRS. I also served as the US firm's representative to the Joint (FASB & IASB) Transition Resource Group for Revenue Recognition (TRG) and was PwC's representative to the Accounting Standards Executive Committee (now FinRec), the senior technical committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. I was also a member of the FAS 123(R) Resource Group that worked with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) on matters related to income taxes and share-based payments and was involved in developing a number of the consensus positions reached by the FASB's Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF) in connection with the accounting for income taxes.
