I run Google Drive's backend team, which is focused largely on infrastructure (business logic layers, storage (blobs and metadata), processing (asynchronous and batch) security & compliance. I make key strategic decisions based on the business needs, technical challenges and team needs for Google Drive.

I lead all Google Vendor integrations, which enable money movement between Google and any user. My team manages 300+ integrations (links to vendors, like Worldpay, DLocal, Billdesk, etc), we're responsible for 100% of the money that Google brings in & disburses. My team is made up of 90 engineering managers and engineers of all levels. 2019-2021: I was the Technical Lead for Google Plex. Leading all aspects of the program, ensuring the UI met the needs of our user and lead partner to driving complex user money movement, settlement, risk and user authentication discussions with Citibank's technical staff. While leading all technical aspects of this program, I also helped set product direction. 2017-2021: Drove expansion of forms of payment on all Google merchant services (e.g. Ads, YouTube, Store, etc). Drove and launched the following technical achievements in the Google Payments Platform: * Built a rich testing environment that simulates entire payment ecosystems for testing* Built a system to reliably debug our vendor communications, while reducing outages and privacy incidents. This system dramatically increased engineer performance when debugging live with vendors.* Built a system to create rich, repeatable tests, which allow the vendor layer to create reproducible tests against a vendor's QA environment. This significantly reduced the time it took for a developer to test code (note that this was in addition to traditional integration, unit and regression tests)My efforts in this space helped reduce certain payment integration effort by 87%.

Led interactive payment flows for Google. Specifically flows where Google's user is in session. 2016-2017:Created Google Standard Payment APIs (http://developers.google.com/standard-payments). A set of APIs that help Google standardize on payment vendor protocols. Pushing uniformity and driving best practices (for example, full body encryption and signing rather than relying on TLS which could decrypt at the edge, or uniform idempotency keys for all calls). This project expanded for APIs for e-wallets, redirect payments, credit cards and open banking. The vendors we've brought on are then uniform, have less security issues and can be brought on with configuration only, no new code. This has allowed us to increase our GMV by $XXXmm. More importantly we've been able to bring on hundreds of forms of payments world wide with near 0 engineering costs.2015-2016:In 2014 we relied on a company to do much of our processing and accounting of payments. We wanted to bring this completely in house (both the accounting, reconciliation and payment processor links). We moved ~$XXB of revenue for 6m customers transacting in 50+ currencies across 13 products in 200+ countries and territories all paying or settling into 80+ bank accounts.Through this project we created a system to warm up credit card processor links (merchant IDs, MIDs) keeping our decline rates consistent between the move. Also I lead the implementation of all major credit card processors world wide onto the new in-house system.

This product is the result of a merger between two companies' network management systems. This position includes coordinating the design, system (verification) testing, documentation and sales training. As well as setting sales and marketing expectations and understanding customer needs.

Researched, implemented and transitioned our Java based element management software from a custom classloader plugin solution to an OSGi component model. By integrating the Eclipse plugin registry, plugins became finer grain and meta-data driven.Managed the development of new features to our flagship element management solution, including requirement gathering, design, and implementation phases of product lifecycle. Researched and implemented RedHat, Apache, Postgres and SSL security and hardening solutions to meet Verizon Wireless' corporate security standards on our element management server platform.Worked as the technical lead on the core embedded firewall product. Served as an engineering and techinical liaison to a international firewall vendor whose solution we integrated onto our embedded platform.

Served the role of senior script developer for our embedded platform. Gathered requirements from the telco customers, produced designs, test plans, and software for these customers. Closely managed an international group of engineers, delivering them requirements and design, and inspecting their productions for quality and adherence to the requirements.Served as a mentor for multiple junior engineers and interns. Helping them develop new skills that weren't taught in the classroom, and mold them into effective engineers adhering to company standards.

As with most small companies people tend to wear many different hats, BuildLinks was no different. I served as the systems administrator, software engineer, and senior software engineer. While most of my responsibilities were to write core product software I also talked one on one with customers on a weekly basis getting feedback from them and troubleshooting the issues they were seeing with our builder CRM software.

Implemented a Java based SSL telnet proxy. This WinNT service allowed customers to design secure end-to-end communication routes between their field technicians and the network elementsI developed features for a 2-tier desktop element management and security application. As the technical lead for this project I worked to integrate with a larger scale EMS system, branding it, and productizing it.
