I led a diverse global team of Architects, driving the design and implementation of advanced network automation inside Fortune 100 companies and major service providers. I provide strategic direction by analyzing customer requirements and developing customized solutions for legacy system integration, scalability, and compliance challenges.

As the Director of Managed Services at Network to Code, I shaped and drove the vision for Managed Services at NTC.I was responsible for sustainably scaling a rapidly growing business line and delivering industry-leading customer service. In addition, I led the architecture, design, and delivery of a cloud-based Kubernetes platform for hosting and managing open-source applications used in enterprise network automation (Nautobot, Ansible AWX, Hashicorp Vault, Grafana). In addition to leading the creation of the platform itself, I was the product owner for Managed Services, which included pricing, market analysis, and technical pre-sales efforts.I was fortunate to support an outstanding team of managers, SREs, and Automation Engineers to build, grow, and service all of the products in NTC's Managed Services portfolio, including our: - Open Source Software Support - Managed Automation Platform - Automation Operations Center

I led a team of exceptional consultants and engineers who designed, built, and delivered automated workflows for NTC’s large enterprise customers. We conducted interviews and performed discovery of existing network processes, then worked to optimize and automate those processes with a cutting-edge, custom-built network automation platform.

As a Sr. Network Automation Consultant, I was responsible for designing and delivering complex network automation solutions for NTC’s clients and partners. These involved regularly working with multiple cloud platforms, network vendors, and disparate automation and telemetry solutions.In addition, I helped to craft and deliver Network Automation Assessments, which help NTC clients transform their network operations and organizations. A Network Automation Assessment involved extensive interviews with client staff and the discovery of the existing tools, technology, and processes—all to deliver actionable recommendations and a strategy for their implementation.

As a Principal Architect, reporting to the Vice President of Global Network and Cyber Security, I advised and informed on complex technical decisions, led projects affecting large business areas, and was an escalation point for large or high-profile customer incidents.I worked across many areas of Rackspace to represent and drive the technical needs of Network Security and Cyber Security organizations. I ensured that the Rackspace internal and our customers' security posture was industry-leading and that we thought "automation first" in all new solutions/products.I partnered with our networking/security product vendors to help shape and grow their offerings to match Rackspace's customer needs. I also met with prospective and current customers to discuss network and security solutions for their problems.Working closely with our Network Security Infrastructure team and Process Engineering Group, I helped architect and design network automation (in Python and Golang) for tasks such as software upgrades, auditing, or standard moves-adds-changes for tens of thousands of devices.

I had many responsibilities as a Network Security Architect at Rackspace; however, the primary among those was being a trusted adviser on Automation, Networking, Security, or IT Architecture. I was an authority on all aspects of the Rackspace network (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, IDS, etc.) and advised internal teams or external customers on solutions.My day-to-day project load varied; I could have been leading efforts for network automation, PCI compliance, equipment refreshes, security events, or significant outages/incidents at any time. I took large-scale changes/projects for our network security fleet of over 25,000 devices from start to finish. I also served as a top-tier escalation point for over 150 of my fellow Network Security team members.For example, I drove a project to create tooling in Python, which automated the control of specific Cisco ASA object groups across ~1200 firewalls. This project removed the need for 40+ man-hours of manual work anytime a new IP subnet was brought into Rackspace. Now, remediation of the entire fleet takes less than 10 minutes.I also worked closely with our vendor partners (Cisco, F5, Palo Alto). I used those relationships to help shape their products to meet the needs of Rackspace and introduce these products into our portfolio.

Primary responsibilities were implementing and supporting network infrastructure for Rackspace's customer-facing applications. This included:- Advanced application delivery solutions on the F5 LTM involving complex and continuously evolving iRules.- VPN and Firewall configuration/support for Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, and Brocade Vyatta vRouter devices.- Extensive work in L2/L3 switches across the Cisco and Arista product portfolios.

Responsibilities include:- Cisco VoIP, LAN, WAN, and Wireless infrastructure, including change management and monitoring.- Systems integration work between the Cisco VoIP system and all other applications.- Third-tier escalation for VoIP/Network trouble tickets.- Design and implement large-scale network changes to integrate the new parent hospital system.Sample projects include:- Virtualize Cisco VoIP deployment and upgrade to the latest software.- Re-IP large portions of the hospital network to align with the parent organization's IP scheme.- Design/configure phone system and LAN/WAN connectivity for the new construction of several buildings on the hospital campus.

- Primary engineer for Cisco VoIP deployment (CUCM, Unity, UCCX, and Presence).- Designed and maintained all UCCX Call Centers and trained all Agents/Supervisors.- Designed, configured, and deployed Cisco IPT/Wan solutions for remote locations to replace existing P2P T1 networks and open new sites.- Supported and supervised Network/Telecommunications Technicians as we moved from a traditional PBX to a Cisco VoIP deployment.- Implemented monitoring via Cacti and automated configuration backup using Rancid for over 1000 network devices.- Maintained and troubleshot large varieties of Cisco equipment, including Catalyst and Nexus switches, ASR and ISR routers, ASAs, Wireless Controllers, and a CUCM cluster

- Provided support for nTelos’ advanced data customers and worked extensively with other service providers and vendors to resolve issues ranging from fiber cuts to equipment failures to regular Move, Add, and Change work.- Responsible for implementing and verifying configuration changes, firmware upgrades, and new installs of Metro Ethernet, DSL, FTTP, and VoIP network equipment during regular service windows.- Recipient of all six nTelos Core Value awards – given to recognize excellence in representing the company’s Core Values: Customer First, Integrity, Teamwork, Continuous Growth, Ownership, and Employee Growth.

- Coordinated responses to Network Abuse complaints and worked with residential and business customers to correct compromised systems. - Created and maintained customer DNS records and web hosting packages in the configuration system.- Provided second-level support for residential Internet customers using dial-up, DSL, FTTP, and WiMax.- Conducted on-site customer instruction and training for new VoIP installs.

- Responsible for the non-book needs of a Books-a-Million store.- Supervised all staff in Non-Book areas of the store, including the coffee shop, magazines, and gift items.- Responsible for storewide scheduling, training, and inventory control.

- Supervised four sales associates to ensure high sales and training levels, leading the district in training and customer satisfaction scores.- Worked with customers to find the best solution to complex technical problems- Handled customer service issues such as returns and exchanges
