My task was to actively target these strategic accounts and focus on gaining short term and long term revenue within these accounts. Three strategic accounts were allocated to me. These accounts were Sanlam, Old Mutual and CSC. I successfully gained new business from two of these accounts within the last 6 months of my employment and closed deals worth more than R8 million. Due to financial cutbacks within the company we were unable to close additional deals requiring Capital Expenditure. Moving to Cape Town for the first time, I commenced working these accounts with no relationships or formal introductions and successfully created ongoing relationships with executives in some of these businesses. My role included ensuring that Strategic Account Plans (SAP’s) for all these clients where completed.
