General Manager – Heritage Joinery Jersey and Heritage BespokeAs the General Manager at Heritage Joinery Jersey, I am responsible for the comprehensive management of both Heritage Joinery and Heritage Bespoke. My role encompasses a wide range of duties, from overseeing daily operations to managing company policies and procedures.I am adept at Health and Safety Management, including the creation of a comprehensive health and safety policy book, and organising site Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for various projects. I ensure all insurance updates are handled annually and conduct staff inductions and contractual agreements.As a DIDAC qualified trainer, I provide staff training on joinery machines, and with my Combi Forklift qualification, I ensure safety and efficiency in our operations.I manage supplier prices and agreements for materials, organise shipping agreements, and procure builder and private client contracts. My role involves managing clients/builders from the initiation of a project to the delivery of the finished product.I am proficient in client relations, site management, staff organisation, and conducting client meetings and site surveys. I provide quotations and measurements for windows, doors, kitchens, stairs, and orangeries.I have expertise in CAD drawings and Fusion 360 3D drawings and renders. I complete and submit applications on behalf of our Clients. I also conduct heritage window and door historic surveys, ensuring our products align with the rich heritage of our work.My commitment to excellence, safety, and client satisfaction has been instrumental in driving the success of Heritage Joinery Jersey.

In my role as a Site Manager, I was responsible for the overall management of construction operations on site on a daily basis. My key responsibilities included:- Ensuring full conformance with prescribed methodologies by reviewing and communicating method statements to team members.- Conducting daily briefings, weekly toolbox talks, and ensuring adherence to the company's safety system.- Coordinating with the Contract Manager to plan work, confirming that all method statements and risk assessments are in place for each day's tasks.- Upholding health and safety provisions, ensuring they are communicated to all staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.- Motivating and managing the project teams, including planning, methodology, monitoring, and regular reviews.- Anticipating potential site issues and managing change effectively.- Ensuring each project has an approved health and safety plan prior to the start of works on site, and that it is implemented and maintained throughout the project.- Regularly assessing the training requirements of all staff and operatives regarding safety and environmental issues and arranging necessary training.- Maintaining value engineering ethos and managing expectations.- Closing out all site safety audit reports and working closely with the safety consultant to ensure all planned works have necessary task-specific method statements and risk assessments in place and signed off before any works start on site.- Promoting cooperation among subcontractors and always setting a personal example.This role required strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and negotiation.
