I am a biophysicist at the intersection of self-assembling soft matter systems and disease-related neurobiology. I am responsible for the design, synthesis, and physical characterization of translational biomaterials to understand how these properties affect physiological, pathological, or therapeutic function in a biological context. I work closely with scientists across multiple disciplines and at all levels to ensure success of both the projects I work on and junior researchers I have had the privilege to mentor. As a researcher and as a teaching assistant in the Physics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology departments for the past five years, I have developed the skills necessary to effectively design, lead, and carry out research projects and to communicate to general, non-expert, and expert audiences and team members.
