As a Senior Director at New Relic, a leading observability company, I oversee six innovative teams ranging from generative AI, ML, API platforms, mobile apps, IDE extensions and collaboration tools. We delivered an industry leading AI observability assistant on top of enterprise grade collaboration software, a natural language to NRQL translator, and extended that functionality into the IDE and mobile app. My role includes collaborating with engineering leadership to enhance system-wide reliability.

ZeroWall was a seed-stage cybersecurity startup where I led development of AI-driven security insights aimed at automating the judgment and decision-making processes of CISOs. Managing a small team of developers and a data scientist, we iterated through four versions of the product using traditional ML coupled with adaptive assessments. In addition to product development, I actively engaged in conferences, sales events, and fundraising endeavors to drive company growth and visibility.

I managed the successful transfer of Glip technology, culture and product to RingCentral, where Glip became the flagship software offering. During this process I coordinated efforts with dozens of teams across the globe, including Russia, Ukraine, China and the Philippines. I led the effort to bring Glip to enterprise standards, including sophisticated HA work, process change management, security and compliance. I managed our local development office in Florida, growing the headcount from 10 to 50, while directing development and product direction.

I was responsible for building a development team and architecting a real-time cloud-basedenterprise communications platform from the ground up. This includes recruiting and hiring, setting up development tools and practices, managing deployments, cloud architecture, budgeting and forecasting and scaling. Successful exit with sale to RingCentral in 2015.

Subsequent to Naspers’ acquisition of controlling interest in Multiply, I became responsible for architecting ecommerce functionality on top of the existing social network platform. The site currently supports approximately 200,000 merchants in Indonesia and Philippines. Key features include a multi-vendor shopping cart, multi-payment transactions, multi-currency support, asynchronous offline transactions and fully customizable merchant sites.My development staff grew by eight as I led the team in an effort to integrate numerous payment systems in Indonesia and the Philippines. These systems include mobile payment systems GCash, SmartMoney and XL Tunia and credit card processors Infintium, AsiaPay and PayPal.Additional efforts included the design of direct integration between the ecommerce platform and four major South East Asian banks (BDO, BPI, Mandiri and BCA) which allowed for automated collections using ATMs and OTC, as well as automated disbursals to merchants.Further responsibilities include the generation of accounting reports, business metrics and KPIs to facilitate corporate level accountability with Naspers’ global requirements.

As one of the founders and primary developers of Multiply.com, a social networking media-sharing web site, I designed and implemented the sites’s architecture from scratch. It grew to support 20 million registered users with 30 million page views and 1.6M unique visitors per day. At peak our users uploaded 2.5 million photos and 20,000 videos daily.I reported directly to the CEO, and managed six developers.I was responsible for site wide performance and management of all systems.Successful exit to Naspers in 2011.

I founded this company to provide voter database management software for political parties. We developed, implemented and maintained a web-based and PDA-based application that allowed users to data mine state-wide and national voter registration databases. The application output data in a unique walkable format, meaning chunks of data were organized into reports that would allow volunteers to walk a door to door route.Customers included the Clark Presidential Campaign, Dean Presidential Campaign, DNC, Minnesota DFL, North Dakota NPL, South Dakota Democratic Party, Arizona Democratic Party, Kentucky Democratic Party, State of California, Iowa Democratic Party, Washington State Democrats, South Carolina Democratic Party and the DSCC.

I developed and maintained mission critical components of SportsLines' Fantasy sports mod_perl application, which supported 2 million users on server farm of 600 machines. Core responsibilities included:live scoring system which integrated perl data structures (user defined scoring systems) with java/javascript client (direct socket connection for data, javascript to dynamically change page) connected to a multi-tier event driven server. I was responsible for the technology department for a company that generated and qualified leads for cosmetic surgeons. I reported to the CEO.I hired and managed a small tech staff of two developers, one system administrator, and two QA engineers.
