I am an experienced policy and communications executive with a proven track record. During my tenure in public service, I transformed two government divisions; represented a $24 billion, 11,000 person federal agency in its engagements with Congress, the press, partner federal agencies, industry, and state and local government; and executed complex nation-wide campaigns in support of critical federal priorities. --Excellence in Leadership: As head of the Strategic Communication office at GSA, I turned around a division with extremely low employee survey scores. After listening to team members in order to understand the division's challenges, I led an internal reorganization to improve mission delivery and customer service. Within six months, through empowering and engaging our team members, we improved scores by an average of 12 percent and enhanced the value the office provided.--Success in Representation: I built strong relationships with key stakeholders that dramatically improved the perception of the agency. This included rebuilding the agency’s reputation after a major spending scandal, which required combining strategic long-term thinking with split-second judgment calls. These efforts restored trust and allowed the agency to, over time, better focus on and execute its mission.--Effectiveness in Advocacy: During my tenure, I built coalitions for critical national priorities. Among a number of projects and initiatives, I secured the biggest annual appropriation in the agency’s history, which included full funding for the largest construction project in GSA’s history.--Business Acumen: As the head of a division of more than 100 employees and a $20 million budget, I worked with my team and my customers to review the office’s operations and value proposition and identified and implemented savings and reductions of $4 million, or 20 percent, while improving employee engagement and providing greater value to the agency.
