• Design from initial concept through to full clinical use of orthopaedic instrumentation and custom implantable products within an ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 environment• Regular and scheduled design review meetings with selected influential surgeons to evaluate clinical efficacy and design of instrumentation/implantable product throughout all stages of the project.• Create and foresee all the necessary testing, validations & protocols to ensure all products met the standards of the relevant regulatory bodies. Some of these include all sterilisation/bio-burden/cleaning & residual analysis on implants, batch to batch consistency in manufacturing, packaging integrity studies, failure modes/effect analysis on the following areas; design, manufacturing, operative technique and toxicology. • Compilation of technical files/design history file and Essential Requirement/Principles for submission to the TGA for registry into the ARTG.• Design and manage instrument modifications to surgeon’s instruments.• Design and manufacture of non/fully functional prototypes for clinical use and/or surgeon evaluation in surgery and cadaver trial.• Design one-off speciality instruments for key high volume implant surgeons.
