I have been in the telecoms and networks business for over twenty years. My grounding in the business was at United Artists / Telewest, and I have been running my own business for thirteen years. Both Extel Communications and London Gateway Networks grew through providing the right products and services via the right staff to the right customers.We have a fantastic team - Stuart Smallcombe heads up Operations and HR. Ian Jones is our techie guy (like Brains off Thunderbirds) and Gary Stoten runs our clever cabling projects. I head up Sales and Finance and Deb Bass manages our wholesale line rental business. Some recent major projects include project management of several systems installations for Thames Gateway, structured cabling for Thurrock Council and CCTV for Savoy Hotel. I left the business after 11 years to move into the rapidly expanding telecoms sector. Unfortunately while telecoms is still expanding, clock manufacturing suffered and production ceased after 25 years. Ray Smallcombe and Tony Holland (and me during my time) employed hundreds of local people and produced items which will be treasured well after we have all gone!
