As an Aeronautical Engineering Lead I am responsible for the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and flight sciences efforts for a Foreign Military Sales upgrade program. In this role I manage the budget and schedule for the organization and forecast labor needs to keep the program staffed. In addition, I serve as the design lead for all structural modifications, delegating electrical design direction and analysis efforts to my electrical engineering and flight sciences leads. I interface directly with our customer and program management and serve as the POC for the aeronautical engineering organization.Lead the structural design of an equipment and LCS upgrade on a small Foreign Military Sales ISR platform. Optimized the design approach for overseas installation, reducing the risk of schedule slip by improving installation flexibility and building up spares kits for Production. Aircraft design completed 20% under budget.Previously served as the crew oxygen design lead on a quick reaction contract to modify a business jet into an Army ISR platform. Designed system around equipment which could be procured within short period of performance. Coordinated with Purchasing group to source parts through unconventional channels. Successfully designed, installed, and test flew system 7 months after program commencement. Served as shipside engineering liaison during aircraft modification, reporting issues encountered during installation back to relevant leads and assisting them with problem solving.

Served as a Design Lead for teams of 2-3 engineers integrating crew oxygen and interior furnishings into a business jet based electronic warfare platform. Simultaneously acted as the Vehicle Configuration Control Manager for the platform, responsible for subcontractor requirement compliance and coordination between system design leads. Mentored new engineers outside of the design lead role, providing on-the-job training and professional guidance to speed up their development. Served as a subject matter expert for Siemens Teamcenter and NX, the designated teacher for new tools and functions and the POC for engineers with software issues. Taught the week-long introduction to mechanical engineering course for 10-20 new engineers bi-annually.

Worked as a structural designer under the supervision of an experienced design lead. Designed frame reinforcement packages and equipment racks currently flying on various ISR and VIP platforms. Briefed USAF customers, FAA ODA, and local manufacturing teams on my design and installation approach to gain approval prior to production. Released engineering to production on time to meet or exceed production schedule.

My responsibilities included leading manufacturing efforts, distributing manufacturing tasks to new machinists, and ensuring the safety of all students in the machine shop. I also took on advanced or complex machining projects and led new member training. While serving my last year as Chief Manufacturing Engineer I also wrote a technical drawing manual and style guide for the team.

During my time at Cummins, I prepared a natural gas generator fuel module for production release by ensuring that testing and analysis requirements were met, along with getting production quotes from suppliers and resolving manufacturing issues. I published a number of technical reports in support of the production release.

As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op, I designed a maintenance trainer assembly for an aircraft auto throttle system which is in use by the US Air Force. In addition to my design project, I released dozens of drawing packages and served as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing during the production and installation of the packages.
