This includes all associated infrastructure work i.e. paved roads, stormwater management, water and electrical reticulation, perimeter fencing, walling and gates, gate houses, and landscaping• Working closely with property owners, Town Planners, Surveyors, Engineers, and Architects• Sourcing and coordinating labour resource and sub-contractor requirements• Managing a large staff complement of contracted bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, roofing specialists, tilers, painters and other sub-contractors• Developing systems for continuous improvement • Mentoring and empowering employees, developing their skill sets• Interpreting architectural and technical drawings, schedules and building specifications• Negotiating with suppliers to secure favourable pricing• Coordinating and chairing site meetings with the professional team, the Client, sub-contractors and Tradesmen• Preparing for tenders and contract bids by calculating rates and pricing and preparing Bill of Quantities against plans • Creating, implementing and managing carefully designed work programmes• Leading quality control to ensure strict compliance with building legislation and standards, cost management and safety protocols• Submitting building plans to local municipality (council) and arranging council inspections • Successfully sub-contracting on a large Civil project, responsible for NZD$2.8M of a NZD$35M projectPlease see my CV for more detail. • Working on the Glen Stewart Estate project: A new development of 54 plots on the East Coast of South Africa (including all paved roads, stormwater pipe lines, electrical and water reticulation, boreholes, pumps and reservoirs), as well as the construction of several residential holiday homes.
