At Battelle I work in the Quality organization and provide support to a variety of projects at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. The majority of my support is directed to the manufacturing, or inspection of items and material for use in the nuclear power industry. I hold Level III Certifications through the American Society of Nondestructive Testing in Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Leak Testing, Radiographic and Visual inspection methods as well as company certifications in Dimensional and Receipt Inspection. I am certified as a Lead Quality Auditor through my employer with extensive experience with multiple quality programs and manufacturing. I have also been designated as an "Owner's Inspector" relating to construction of pressure systems under ASME B31.3.

Quality Assurance Manger of a green field start up of an Electron Beam, Titanium Melting Furnace. Managed the initial development of the quality program, and qualification activities for a facility that as built would melt 10 to 12 million pounds of titanium alloy ingots.

Started in 1987 as a Supervisor in a facility manufacturing Titanium Golf shafts, and moved over to a position as the Supervisor in the inspection department for the main manufacturing plant. Learned ultrasonic, eddy current, liquid penetrant, and visulal inspection methods for nuclear fuel tubing and aerospace hydraulic line tubing. Then moved into QA Engineering. I worked in that position for 7 years. In this position I was responsible for the full range of quality assurance functions ranging from auditing (internal and vendors) being the company representative for customer audits, procurement quality, sales quality and so on.

Various positions including Platoon Leader, Public Affairs Officer (for the Brigade), Assistant Operations Officer, and special staff positions while stationed in Heidelberg Germany in a Topographic Battalion as part of the 18th Engineer Brigade. Continued positions as staff officer on the installation staff at Fort Leonard Wood MO, on the Operations Staff responsible for the training given to the support staff. Also assigned as a Brigade Assistant Operations Officer for construction for the support organization responsible for the training staff and range maintenance and support.Engineer Schools included Officer Basic, Atomic Demolitions, Defense Mapping, Nuclear Biological and Chemical Defense, and the Officer Advanced course. Had one additional assignment as a public affairs officer supporting a systems test of a new fuel pipeline system that was being purchased in the mid 80s.
