My primary function was the conduct of proactive and reactive intelligence gathering interviews, supported by physical search and digital device examination. Supporting the Superintendent for the South West Basic Command Unit (BCU) neighbourhood strand. The only BCU within the Metropolitan Police covering four local authority areas and in excess of 70 local neighbourhood policing teams. During a period of significant organisation change, I assumed responsibility for managing expectations of key community partners, preparing regular performance reports, and conducting other ad hoc project work, such as looking at methods to drive pro activity within the neighbourhood strand. The role also required regular upward briefing, up to ACPO level, as well as diary and email management for senior officers.

Trained in advanced public order, assisting with the response to planned and spontaneous protests across London, leading serials of officers in testing conditions.
