I founded Corona Optical Systems in 2000. The company was a high tech start-up backed by Intel Corporation and a number of venture capitalists. Core technology was acquired from Cray Research and further developed with focus on high speed backplane and multishelf interconnects for Infiniband, 10GE and Sonet systems. Key customer segments included High Performance Computing, Terabit Routers, and Multi-shelf Grooming Switches. Emcore Corporation acquired Corona in 2004.
