Undergraduate ResearcherNorthwestern University Sep 2008 - Jun 2009In the Fall of 2008, I wrote a paper "Carbon Dioxide Emissions in Urban Passenger Transportation." I compared modes, drive systems, and fuels to determine which vehicle pathways produce the lowest carbon dioxide emissions. I used Argonne National Laboratory's GREET model to streamline the life cycle analysis. The paper was accepted for publication in the Northwestern Undergraduate Research Journal (NURJ) in the Fall, 2009 issue.In the winter and spring of 2009, I worked on a paper analyzing fuel surcharges in freight transportation. My goal was to find and test new FSC methodologies to limit volatility while also accurately reflecting real fuel costs. The final report and presentation were given to supply chain executives at Philips Electronics.
