Monitors and updates the Member, Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, District Director and all appropriate Staff on district and local issues. Acts as liaison with federal, district, and local agencies for the Member and constituents.Prepares briefing papers, event memos and weekly reports as necessary.Represents the Congressman to outside community organizations; local, state and federal government agencies; constituents; and others as needed. This may include attending meetings, completing written correspondence, speaking engagements, handling telephone inquiries, and other similar tasks and duties. Holds “Office Hours” within the assigned area for the purpose of soliciting constituent casework and to provide a forum for concerned citizens to access the Congressman with respect to legislative issues or problems that they are experiencing with a governmental entity.Works with local political leaders and county committee’s, attend monthly county meetings and events (picnics, annual dinners, parades, etc.)
