Wildlife Investigator, Ohio Department Of Natural Resources-Division Of Wildlife
CurrentI presently serve as an Ohio State Wildlife Investigator in Northeastern Ohio. My primary responsibilities include criminal investigations involving fish and wildlife enforcement, hunting related shooting incident reconstruction, pollution investigations, and certifying wild harvested Ginseng for international export. I also specialize in conducting the on-line aspects of the agencies investigations involving social media by using open-source investigative techniques (OSINT) I provide social media analysis and OSINT for my agency as well as cell phone records analysis. My job duties include conducting criminal interviews, surveillance- both overt and covert, Crime scene investigation, evidence collection, writing reports, preparing search warrants, making arrests, and testifying in court. I have specialized training in online/internet investigations, Death Investigation, Forensic Shooting Incident Reconstruction, Interview and Interrogation, and Boating Accident Investigation I also spent seven years as a Wildlife Investigator assigned to the Division of Wildlife's Lake Erie Enforcement Unit. My duties there included both sport and commercial fisheries enforcement. I conducted inspections of commercial fishing vessels as well as auditing of commercial catch reports and quotas. I also conducted sport fishing enforcement for license & safety compliance I completed these duties both on shore and the open waters of Lake Erie operating boats up to 26 feet in length. Prior to being promoted to the rank of Wildlife Investigator in 2005 I was assigned as a State Wildlife Officer in Lake County Ohio. During that time I served as the Ohio Division of Wildlife's primary contact for the public. I enforced wildlife and fisheries laws, provided guidance to to the public regarding wildlife damage,conducted public speaking events, taught hunter education classes and handled sick and injured wild animals.
