Database Administrator for the Online Vehicle Information Management System (OLVIMS) for the Air Force. The first assignment involved migrating a standalone Cobol application to Oracle 10g Database. This involved designing and creating a relational database to hold the data, creating a mapping document for migration, Sql*Loader scripts, and procedures written in PL/SQL to process data from flat files into relational database. The second assignment is an upgrade of an existing Oracle database running on Solaris. We are migrating from Oracle 9.2.0.6 to Oracle 10g and from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10. The legacy database has many data integrity problems, performance problems, and obsolete objects. This is being solved by a very concise normalized design which takes advantage of various Oracle constraints. Wrote detailed specifications for modules to be coded. Wrote detailed installation instructions for the database and application to be installed in the pre-production and production environments. Traveled to Vandenberg Air Force Base and migrated a database from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10g, configured Oracle Discoverer, Reorganized tablespaces, and set up backups for their system.Web Administrator – Project #1Member of web operations group in support of Automated Civil Engineering Systems (ACES) for the Air Force. Responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance of forty-five servers divided evenly across three different production locations. We are using Oracle 10gAS and have 5 J2EE servers, 5 Forms Servers, 3 Discoverer Servers, an Infrastructure, and a Grid Control running at each site. Grid Control is used to monitor these application servers and sends emails when problems occur plus allows one to visually check status. Oracle Application Server Control is also used to monitor these applications. Red Hat Linux is used on all applications except the Forms Servers which run Windows 2000.
