Database Administrator for the Online Vehicle Information Management System (OLVIMS) for the Air Force. The first assignment involved migrating a standalone Cobol application to Oracle 10g Database. This involved designing and creating a relational database to hold the data, creating a mapping document for migration, Sql*Loader scripts, and procedures written in PL/SQL to process data from flat files into relational database. The second assignment is an upgrade of an existing Oracle database running on Solaris. We are migrating from Oracle 9.2.0.6 to Oracle 10g and from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10. The legacy database has many data integrity problems, performance problems, and obsolete objects. This is being solved by a very concise normalized design which takes advantage of various Oracle constraints. Wrote detailed specifications for modules to be coded. Wrote detailed installation instructions for the database and application to be installed in the pre-production and production environments. Traveled to Vandenberg Air Force Base and migrated a database from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10g, configured Oracle Discoverer, Reorganized tablespaces, and set up backups for their system.Web Administrator – Project #1Member of web operations group in support of Automated Civil Engineering Systems (ACES) for the Air Force. Responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance of forty-five servers divided evenly across three different production locations. We are using Oracle 10gAS and have 5 J2EE servers, 5 Forms Servers, 3 Discoverer Servers, an Infrastructure, and a Grid Control running at each site. Grid Control is used to monitor these application servers and sends emails when problems occur plus allows one to visually check status. Oracle Application Server Control is also used to monitor these applications. Red Hat Linux is used on all applications except the Forms Servers which run Windows 2000.

Short term assignment to assist current developers with their ever growing support task on the Real Estate Financial Management Information System (RFMIS). Responsibilities include Oracle Reports and Forms creation and maintenance. Currently working on an assignment to send email from an Oracle database prior to 8i using DBMS_PIPE communicating to a listener program running on Unix.

Team lead for maintenance and enhancements to a customer application developed for NASA years ago called Management Information Control Systems (MICS). Maintain team schedule, track all weekly accomplishments and report to management. Handle all incoming request for new accounts and account changes for the application. First on call for Trouble Ticket system, notification is sent via pager when tickets arrive. Responsible for maintenance of certain modules within the application, other calls are passed on to other team members. The current application is written Developer 6i but is planned to be migrated to 10g. Worked with another team to meet a deadline using Client OLE2 functions to write data from a 10g Oracle database to a Word document. This data manipulation included parsing of character, numeric, dates, and CLOBS and writing using functionality of Word such as bolding, underlining, colors …etc.

P2 Project TeamContinued to maintain and enhance previously developed reports for the Corps of Engineers P2 Project. Helped other new team members to learn the design of Oracle Projects and Primavera. Implemented Oracle Applications multi-org capability to segregate data between different parts of the business using Discoverer and Oracle Reports. Configure and maintain Oracle 9iAS, Web Enabled Discoverer, and Oracle Report Server. Configured BEA Weblogic Server and upgraded web enabled Primavision to SP4 on Unix. Cloned databases from one Unix environment to another environment on the same server and on different servers. Provided after hours support, weekend support, and necessary DBA activities during after hours and weekend hours. Installed and configured VNC on Unix servers to facilitate in the usage X windows programs. Backup Database Administrator for all P2 databases including development, test, and production. Assist Primary DBA in day to day activities. Serve as Primary DBA in his absence. Continue to enhance and build new Business Areas in Discoverer for the Corps. Control all access privileges in Discoverer for the Corps worldwide. Approve and implement all production moves to a Unix server.

P2 Project TeamMember of P2 Project team at Corps of Engineers. Researched and prototyped several different methods of implementing Oracle Reports on the Web. These methods included Oracle Applications Concurrent Manager, Reports Server, and Discoverer. Have become proficient in administering Oracle Applications. Developed Reports 6i Template that will be used for all of Corps of Engineers reports for the P2 project. Have developed many reports accessing distributed data on Oracle Projects and Primavera utilizing Reports 9i that will be used Worldwide by the Corps of Engineers. Created the End User Layer for Discover. Have configured Discoverer Business Areas for many different functional areas of the Corps of Engineers. Developed the Continuity of Operations Plans for the P2 project. This entailed backups, redundancy, and replication that would be put in place so in case a natural or man made disaster occurred and the main processing center was destroyed. Real Estate Financial Management Information System for NT( RFMISNT)Installed and configured Oracle 9i along with 4 databases on Linux (Redhat 7.3). Installed and configured Oracle 9iAS Infrastructure on Linux (Redhat 7.3) Installed and configured Oracle 9iAS Application Server on Windows 2000. The end goal here was to set up a test bed for the Developers for the RFMISNT Project.

Installed Oracle 7.2.3 on HP UNIX and migrated the existing database on OS/2 to this box. Developed database procedures and functions using PL/SQL.

Designed and implemented the following systems: Inventory Tracking, Process History, and Process Control Systems for Manufacturing, Automated Scheduling System for the Medical Department, Laboratory Information Management System, Automated Quality Letter System for Shipments, Automated Grading System for Quality Control.
