These are designed to support science teachers with Earth systems content as well as act like role models for students with the ultimate goal of creating the next generation of environmental stewards. As the instructor for various high school science classes, I spend a large portion of my time conducting educational and scientific research for the development of innovative instructional strategies. I communicate up-to-date scientific data on global climate change to students to inspire interest and awareness of global environmental issues. Acting as the department chair, I develop, coordinate, and implement educational strategies for five incoming science teachers. I cultivate partnerships with science museums, organizations, and other educators to enhance curriculum and make presentations to school district chief academic officers, school leaders, and stakeholders to increase awareness of classroom progression and challenges to gain further support of outside resources. Finally, I collect and analyze student academic datasets to present to district executives, school leaders, teachers, parents, and students.
