-Examine stimulation of the 20S CP proteasome isoform, a multi-subunit, multi-catalytic complex responsible for protein degradation in the cell-Perform cell culturing, cell dosing, and manipulate assay conditions for HEK-293T cells to examine the effects of small molecule proteasome stimulators and their ability to mitigate cellular stress and neurodegenerative disorders- Chemical synthesis of AM404, a derivative of acetaminophen and known proteasome stimulator -Gel electrophoresis, western blotting, Bodipy Assays, & DCFA-Investigated the dose response of cycloheximide, an inhibitor of protein synthesis, on cell lines to create optimal assay conditions for protein analysis via western blot-Presented findings and plan on undertaking summer research investigating 20S CP small molecule stimulator effects on oxidative stress in the cell

-Facilitate a welcoming community & provide social and academic resources for first-year biological sciences students in the Enhanced Academic Success Experience (EASE) program-Hold hour-long weekly seminars sessions for a cohort of 38 students, facilitating peer discussion, resource awareness, and inclusivity -Prepare weekly slide content curricula and do weekly checks with students via email -Held 19 20+ minute 1 on 1 mentorship sessions with members of my cohort

-Screen patients presenting to the ED for eligibility on study ‘Abdominal, Head, and Chest Pain in the Pediatric Emergency Department: Epidemiology, Predictors, and Outcomes.'-Administer surveys to eligible patients and their guardians in the ED in both Spanish and English -Track and organize patient data using REDCap system-Devise my own study alongside a research associate including literature reviews and the use of retrospective data to examine the impact on diagnosis clarity, if any, of language barriers on the incidence of X-rays, CT scans, and/or ultrasound tests on patients eight years of age or younger presenting to the ED with Abdominal Pain of ESI 3.
