This role also ensures that GTS' data is secure and backed up.-Prepare Change Management for Install, upgrade or downgrade backup software components.-Execute Install, upgrade or downgrade Commvault Agents-Performs troubleshooting and repair of all aspects of the backup software product features. Including but not limited to: o File systems agents. o VMware & Hyper-V o Magnetic library configurations o Storage Policy (Job) configuration o Deduplication settings-Performs troubleshooting of basic Operating System issues as it pertains to backup agents.-Performs troubleshooting of upstream backup-to-disk NAS devices.-Performs troubleshooting of upstream Tape devices.-Investigate the daily error messages, identify the root causes of the errors, and identify what is needed for remediation.-Monitor tape rotations and participates in tape library maintenance.-Performs risk assessments and testing of data processing systems-Routinely confirm that all critical business systems are being backed up and are recoverable from available backups in an acceptable timeframe.-Develop (document) standard operation procedures for various operations-Perform routine “gap analysis” to identify if and where applications/server configurations do not conform to Backup policies-Involved in new standards for backup equipment & software integration design
