Upon obtaining my degree in Mechanical Engineering from the outstanding Colorado School of Mines, I have had the pleasure of working for Wadsworth Control Systems in Arvada, Colorado. During the past three years I’ve enjoyed the opportunities to improve the design process for energy curtains by introducing the advantages of adopting SolidWorks as our 3D CAD design software which improved the quality of the drawings and reduced engineering errors. In addition I used this software to develop a custom parts library for customer blueprint designs, and trained fellow employees on the new software. I used my friendly, yet professional communication skills to collaborate with the production team to develop and implement improvements to mechanical designs of all mechanical components including accessories for industrial motors like mounting brackets and output shaft couplings, rack and pinion systems, weather station anemometer parts. When I became the most senior member of my team, I gained a lot of satisfaction from documenting standard procedures and processes for everything we do. Before that everything was just "tribal knowledge". This information guide proved to be extremely valuable when I used it to train a new employee. My creativity proved valuable when I developed a new estimate program for customer projects. The new program gave us a more accurate estimate of how much a project would cost and in turn, improved our margins on customer projects.
