About Brian Bae
From my first systematic trading algorithm at 17 to developing a multi-billion dollar volume making HFT system, I have undertaken over 15 asset management-related projects over the past decade, including both side projects and company products. Of these, 11 miserably failed for various reasons. Three barely broke even, and one succeeded. Throughout this journey, I went bankrupt twice.I have learned to manage uncertainty and risk from multiple sources: market risk, people risk, and engineering risk. Balancing these is no easy task, but I firmly believe that there are ways to do it and that it is a worthwhile endeavor.
