I am a partner in Kutak Rock's Omaha office, where I practice employee benefits law and lead the Firm's national health and welfare benefits practice. I work with public (governmental), tax-exempt, and private sector clients on employee benefit plan issues. I advise clients on HIPAA compliance and a variety of health and welfare plans, including group health plans, cafeteria plans, and health reimbursement arrangements. I counsel clients on benefit plan design and administration issues, compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended (“ERISA”), and draft plan documents and employee communications. Since 2010, I have worked closely with clients on questions regarding the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as amended (“ACA”), and its implementing regulations. I also assist clients on employee benefits issues in the context of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. I am admitted to practice in Nebraska and Iowa.
