Senior Executive with over 30 years of experience managing legal and compliance functions and advising Boards and C-Suite leaders in support of growing global businesses. Brian’s experience includes serving as the General Counsel of two publicly traded global companies, where he also led various business projects and initiatives and participated in the overall management of those companies. Brian recently retired from Axalta Coatings Systems (NYSE: AXTA), a $5B revenue global coatings company, where he served as the SVP and General Counsel, managing the global legal and compliance functions and serving as a member of Axalta’s Executive Committee. He remains as a Senior Advisor to Axalta. Prior to Axalta, Brian spent 25 years at Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT), a $3B revenue global specialty chemicals company, where he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for over 16 years. He started his legal practice in the Corporate Department at Choate, Hall & Stewart, a Boston law firm, after serving as a law clerk at the New Hampshire Supreme Court. Brian is currently an adjunct law professor at Boston College Law School, where he teaches on matters of corporate governance. Brian currently serves as a Board member at Passim, a not-for-profit music venue and school, where he is also a member of the Executive and Governance Committees. Brian was previously a Board member of various not-for-profit organizations, including the New England Legal Foundation and the Association of Corporate Counsel – Northeast Chapter.
