About Brian Bester
My telecoms career started in 2009 at the height of the National 3G initiatives in South Africa. This is where I entered the Fiber Optic market where I was involved in projects providing backhaul to Cellular BTS Sites. In 2010 I joined ClearlineIS where I supervised Special Projects and Design, looking after large last mile Fiber Optic Infrastructure builds.In 2014 I decided to start BICT Consult as a specialized network design and consultation firm with the idea to grow and promote open access last mile fiber optic infrastructure within South Africa. BICT Consult was part of various FTTx service providers projects over the past years including DFA, VUMATEL, SADV, Metro Fibre Networx, Frogfoot, Vodacom, NOKIA/Alcatel Lucent and CONDUCT to name a few. BICT Consult quickly grew into a successful full turnkey fiber optic services provider who operates nationally with exceptional technical ability.I joined RSS Fibre as their Managing Director in March of 2020 after a successful merge of BICT Consult's Operational side of the business into RSS. I investigated the opportunity to duplicate BICT Consult's business model and offering abroad and started efforts to establish the company in the United States. In October of 2021, BICT Consult USA Inc. started to operate in North Carolina, where I currently serve as the Company's president.
