Senior Commodity Manager
Current• Manage commodities including supply, budget performance, quality, delivery.• Oversee and provide leadership to purchasing group.• Negotiate Global / International Sourcing contracts.• Lead evaluation teams to verify potential supplier capabilities.• Prepare RFQ packages and analyze supplier replies to confirm compliance with technical specification.• Past leader of Process Improvement team responsible for developing standardized purchasing procedures.• Lead Cross-Functional Teams to establish budgets, sourcing strategies, and business plans, collaborating with engineering, design, estimating, logistics, and production departments when applicable, utilizing total transparency guidelines. • Negotiate short-term and long-term cost reduction plans.• Liaison for all sections of Purchasing Department, responsible for reviewing, preparing, and presenting sourcing documentation.• Benchmark commodity groups to determine best practices, effectiveness of supplier performance, and potential for cost reductions.• Manage supplier development. Visit suppliers to help identify areas to improve quality, productivity, delivery/logistics, supplier management, and cost issues.• Participate in and lead CFTs, managing new program development activities.• Consistently meet/exceed stated business objectives, generally averaging 7-10% annual performance to budget in extremely competitive automotive arena.• Experience managing very large annual spend amounts up to $500M, while leading total group spend of over $900M. • Operational Excellence training (Nissan) utilizing lean manufacturing techniques.• Investigate and identify LCC supplier candidates.• Negotiate and enforce Master Purchasing Agreement Contracts with suppliers.
