I am super proud of the thirty-three years I spent serving my community as part of York Regional Police, but looking back I realize that it wasn't fighting crime or rising through the ranks that gives me the most satisfaction - it was helping people. For over three decades I fought against criminal organizations and assisted victims of violent crime and through it all I had the privilege of working alongside the very best in the criminal justice system to help make a difference in our society.Along the way I learned a lot about myself and a lot about people. How some people, through no fault of their own, can become marginalized, victimized, and in some ways, overlooked and forgotten. The drive to help people remains my greatest motivator, but after a lifetime of public service I’ve decided to chase challenges even bigger than traditional policing can offer.
