This system utilizes web based (SSRS), lost hours charts in solution paths to provide accurate insight into terminal performance. These automated charts can then be exported and presented to leadership.• Presented the Terminal Alerts system at the INFORMS Conference in Oct 2012.• Regularly researched and presented logistics based issues to Service Design, Operations, Marketing and Executive Leadership. This generally consists of using SQL or SAS to pull and aggregate data, then prepare charts and presentation. • Built a model that calculated out of route miles due to floods in 2011. This model will be used to pursue an insurance claim for losses greater than $50M.• Designed and programmed an automated a system for creating Service Design Field Review presentations. This system contains more than 20 automated charts that can be used to strategically focus on terminal issues. • Utilized SSIS and SSRS to trend yard volumes to evaluate service and recommend addition of new yard jobs at locations across the network.• Organized and lead a week of Service Design meetings focused on finding ways to improve velocity

The results of this study were delivered to field operations for their evaluation when making the decision to bypass a train.• Formulated a new change made to Service Design’s blocking optimizer that allows a user to delete or add blocks independently of other blocks on the network. Previously anytime a user deleted a block, another block had to be added. This change allowed Service Design to identify yards for closure, find multiple small blocks to eliminate and find new ways to cut costs.
