I am an OSBA Certified Specialist in Family Relations Law with fifteen years of experience handling divorces, dissolutions, legal separations, annulments and child custody matters. I also possess significant experience in real estate, construction law, debt collection and civil litigation in general.My greatest area of strength is my ability to educate others regarding the law: informing my own clients, persuading judges and magistrates, and mentoring newer attorneys. I only accept cases where I believe I can provide substantial value to my clients. My strong focus on promptly updating clients and returning messages sets me apart from some of my competitors.I have successfully handled complex cases including UCCJEA and Hague Convention issues. I recently prosecuted a Writ of Prohibition against a local judge. I handled a child support case involving a high-profile NFL player. On many occasions, I was able to get cases dismissed for lack of personal jurisdiction over non-Ohio defendants (one already in 2024). I have substantial experience handling Court of Appeals cases in the 11th and other districts.Regarding service to the legal community, I was the President of the Geauga County Bar Association for 2022 and I currently chair the GCBA Family Law Committee (2016-2021, 2023-present). I am also the current chair of the Lake County Bar Association’s Certified Grievance Committee.I was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers 2012 – 2013 and 2016 - 2018, but never purchased their lovely plaques.I serve my church in multiple roles including VP of Board of Trustees, finance committee, guitar player and softball team manager. In 2022, I volunteered for a mission trip in Puerto Rico, repairing homes damaged by a hurricane.Prior to my first law firm job, I worked as an Assistant Store Manager at Blockbuster Video locations in Texas and Ohio (and I still love movies).
