As a regulatory investigator in the Professional Regulation Division of the Law Society, I am tasked to investigate complaints made against lawyers, paralegals and unlicensed legal practitioners providing legal services in the Province of Ontario.

Executive Officer to senior Toronto Police Service Command Staff Director in charge of 8 support units and 1,800+ civilian and police personnel; Business Intelligence, Court Services, Communications, Fleet & Materials Management, Parking Enforcement, Property and Evidence Management, Records Management and Video Services. In this position, I am involved in high level planning, oversight, monitoring, committee membership, drafting of budgets, policies and reports and other duties, all to support of my assigned command staff leader.

Toronto Police Service, Homicide Cold Case Unit

As the lead investigator assigned to investigate homicide cold cases, I have used my knowledge, skills and experience to develop a business plan to dynamically overhaul how the Toronto Police Service conducts unsolved homicide investigations. That plan, which has been corporately approved and implemented can easily be adapted for any law enforcement agency to increase its opportunities for success in this important area of serious crime investigation. Also, as the lead investigator in this area, I was one of the first to use twitter and other social media platforms as an investigative tool to solve homicide cold cases.

Toronto Police Service- Homicide Unit

Lead Investigator/Certified Ontario Multi Jurisdictional Major Case Manager in numerous homicide, suspicious death and officer involved shooting investigations. Co-lead investigator in the Boxing Day shooting case of Jane Creba and 6 other persons (December 2005) and more recently, the lead investigator in the Christopher Husbands/Toronto Eaton Centre mass shooting (June 2012) leading to the highest murder sentence in the Province of Ontario (at that time).

Sex Crimes/Cold Case Unit

As the lead investigator assigned to the Sex Crimes Cold Case Unit, I recommended and wrote all standards, procedures and protocols for one of Canada's first formalized units to investigative unsolved sex crimes. It was during this time, that I developed a keen interest in cold case serious crime investigation and established myself as a leader and innovator in this important area utilizing forensic DNA technology and other important investigative techniques to solve these challenging cases.

Toronto Police Service- International Fugitive Squad

As one of the first members of the Fugitive Squad, I was instrumental in developing international law enforcement partnerships to locate, identify and apprehend fugitives from justice who flee to Toronto in order to avoid apprehension and criminal prosecution for serious crimes they have committed in countries all over the world. I have been recognized by the FBI, US Marshals Services and many other law enforcement agencies for the work I have done in this area including the apprehension of numerous serious offenders, international teaching and conferences and the creation of key inter-agency partnerships.
