Brian Bortz is the founder of his own business, Double B’s Art Camp. This is a summer art camp for elementary-aged children designed to give kids a creative escape and outlet to create and explore different mediums of art. Serving as the founder and primary instructor, Brian quickly learned the importance of communication, as he was responsible for communicating with the students, parents, suppliers, and venue in order to make sure his camp ran as smoothly as possible. Brian is an Art, Technology, and Culture & Creative Media Production double major studying at the University of Oklahoma. Currently a Junior in the Honors College, Brian has been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA during his time at the University of Oklahoma and has been recognized on the President's Honor Roll. Brian leads prospective students through campus tours as an Honors College Ambassador where he primarily focuses on academically high-achieving students and National Merit Semifinalists. Beyond being a tour guide, Brian is involved with Class Council, Transfer Student Advisory Board, Transfer Peer Mentor Program, Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, and the Student Government Association. Within Student Government, Brian is a Congressman and serves on the University Policy Committee where he is working on transfer-specific legislation. Brian transferred from Samford University after his freshman year where he was able to show his ability to get integrated on campus as well as excel academically. Achieving a 4.0 GPA for his first year, Brian put himself at the top of his class and has been placed into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society and Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honors Society. Brian got integrated within the Student Government Association, serving as a Freshman Class Senator, School of the Arts Senator, and member of Freshman Forum. He is also a member of Alpha Tau Omega, Class Officers, and marketing coordinator for Samford’s annual “Samford Gives Back” event. Brian is known for his optimistic attitude, creative mind, rational perspective, and determination to consistently do his best. Through all his past extra curriculars, he has an extensive amount of experience collaborating and working on teams and is constantly seeking opportunities to further his education and work experience.
