My law practice focuses in the areas of municipal representation, public finance and bond issues, business transactions and environmental law.

I serve as the elected Representative of District 88 covering northeastern Marion and southeastern Hamilton County and northwestern Hancock County, including Geist and Fishers. In 2000 I was selected by my fellow Republicans as the Republican Leader for the House Caucus, and in 2005-2006 and 2011-2017 have had the privilege of serving as Speaker of the House for the 114th, 116th , 117th, 118th, 119th and 120th General Assemblies.

I served as the legislative advisor to H. Dean Evans, the Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Indiana.
