- Rack Deliveries - Oversee incoming server rack deliveries, to include verifying matching seal and P.O. numbers, inspecting shock seals, inspecting racks and hardware for damage, supervise white glove team during delivery, and supervise and QC the installation team’s work.- Inventory Management - Accept and inspect incoming deliveries of hardware, RMA’s and consumables. Allocate space for delivered materials within the inventory rooms. Asset tag, assign and track all hardware assets. File requests for and ship/track/receive RMA’s. Accept, scan and track assets for vendor parts lockers. - Managing Phase Build Out - Assist with the management of the phase build-out for ground up construction of new computer rooms, to include supervising various installation vendors, working with vendors to acquire consumables and hardware necessary, QC-ing contractor installation work, planning and verifying future power usage capacity, overseeing installation of backbone and networking gear, supervising testing process for all backbone fiber. Collate and allocate assets for the build out by phases to be ready before they are required by the installation contractors. Working closely with my management, my DCOPS teams, and all installation contractors to make sure all needs have been or will be met. Scheduling, and executing escorts into MMR’s, and edge pods.- Break Fix - Trouble shoot device failures to find root cause. Replace hardware such as NICs, optics, RAID controllers, storage batteries, fan backplanes, drive backplanes, mother boards, etc… Trouble shoot and repair down or erroring fiber. Trouble shoot and repair RJ45. Minor troubleshooting of software inside of BIOS, error logs, IP settings, firmware versions. Request RMA’s from the vendor and install RMA’d hardware.- S.O.P’s - Create, edit and contribute to SOP’s and KBA’s that outline policy and procedures.
