Survey steel structures and anything that attaches to them as well as some general surveying.Known for our field to finish capabilities (receive drawings in field, survey, reduce data and create client product within 48 hours). With age moving more to a position of preparing jobs and making finalized reports for client distribution. Trying to pass on the knowledge of the flexability required to survey dynamic structures as well as what client expects for work product - when to hold the structure as control and when to go back to base line control (critical to hold the structure after a certain point when surveying dynamic structures).Working with the Sandis Company on some projects as well as our Bryant Surveys projects.It is very nice having the broad resources of Sandis employees available.

Gained experience working 8 years with Land Survey firms that took on the occasional unique project before making the move to family company where I got mentored by who I consider the best in the business (dad).Worked field to finish on many unique and or large steel frame buildings. Starting with blank set of drawings all the way through the final reports for client distribution. Lots of first to be done type of projects (Disney Concert Hall, Eifel Tower Las Vegas,SLAC alignment monumentation post earthquake, NIFF construction of target chamber and alignment,Several High Rise steel frame structures & bridges, and even several FAA flight control towers, stadiums/arenas and lots of casinoes and even more hospitals). So I got the oppertunity to develope survey methods modified for each project. The main work flow was anchor bolts to final plumb and elevation as builts with lay out for plumb up control and bent plate (EOD) placement. Had to learn quite a bit about iron working procedures in order to provide our clients with data that they could use rather than standard survey reports/drawings.

Land surveying - civil subdivision work, worked with one of the best well rounded Surveyors in the industry that could build a hill side subdivision with nothing more that a calculator and a set of plans. Learned what it took to be considered a Cheif of Party before cad calcluations were provided. Learned a lot about interpretatiation of plans and Engineer's intent as far as it applied to field use. Also learned about how critical it was to close out the numbers before using any of the calculated or provided dimensions.

First full time job in field of surveying was at this very diverse company.Worked on Roads, Bridges, High Rise, Dams, Waste Treatment Plants,Light Rail Sytems, Precision Alignment for DOE/DOD (They did all aspects of surveying).Learned how to be an instrument man on all equipment (T1, T2, Kern 2AE, HP3800, Hp3810 and the game changing HP 3820 - which Leica bought the patent on to creat there line of coaxile dual compensating 1" instruments).
