Dr. Brian Buckler, Professor of Marketing in Avila’s School of Business, teaches Marketing courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Buckler completed his Ph.D. at the University of Texas-Arlington with a concentration in Marketing and minors in Statistics and Quantitative Psychology. He is a two-time alumnus of Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Research and a Master of Business Administration. He had teaching roles at both institutions as well.At Avila, Professor Buckler also serves as Director of Undergraduate Business Development. In this capacity, he helps students take advantage of Avila’s rather unique ability to offer a variety of career-enhancing educational opportunities including double majors, minors, internships and the 4+1 to MBA program. His Avila recognition includes the Medal of Honor.Dr. Buckler is active in the regional professional Marketing community and serves as a long-time Board and Executive Committee member of the American Marketing Association-Kansas City. He believes this role is instrumental in connecting students with potential employers, securing quality internships and networking with professionally qualified adjunct faculty for the School of Business.For his scholarship, Professor Buckler has a number of publications in top peer-reviewed journals as well as many presentations of his work at national conferences. His focus is often in the area of consumer behavior (e.g. boycotts, compulsive buying) and marketing research tools and methods. For these professional accomplishments, he is one of a handful of faculty to receive the Avila University Distinguished Scholar Award.
