Previously I was a Property Manager (Turnover Manager) responsible for the fit-up of vacant residential units in preparation for new tenants for Ottawa Community Housing Corporation. The company owns and manages 15,000 properties in the greater Ottawa area. For the past three years I have been involved in the building of a new IT system for the administration of tenacies and maintenance of our properties. The new system is from Northgate and utilizes ABW as a financial system.The work includes the evaluation of our business practices, the creation of visio flow charts, the determination of how we want to do things with the new system and finally building it in Northgate.It is a wonderful opportunity to help mold the direction of the company in the future.

It has been a challenging and rewarding experience.

With a team of seven Maintenance Workers and two Maintenance Administrators it was our responsibility to fit-up 400-500 vacant residential housing units annually. The success of our team was based not only on getting the units done as quickly as possible so we could reduce rental loss but also to stay within budget. It pleases me to say that our team had never gone over budget and we were extremely successful in having units done in a very timely manner.
