As a post-doc and Assistant Scientist, I used a variety of genome-scale approaches to better understand metabolic diversity in purple non-sulfur bacteria. I used Tn-seq to identify essential genes and determine fitness contributions of non-essential genes in Rhodobacter sphaeroides under a variety of growth conditions. I used ChIP-seq and RNA-seq to explore regulatory networks in Rhodobacter sphaeroides and related purple non-sulfur bacteria.
