I work with federal and state analysts to prepare intelligence briefings for emerging threats. I deploy data analytics tools and geospatial data to predict criminal trends and future threats. I also respond to crime scenes nationally and overseas to conduct investigations and interviews. As a Detective I was chosen amongst 300 of my peers with building the Violent Crimes Task Force from the ground-up, I drafted the mission statement, set the team, and defined task force operations. I also provided technical and tactical assistance to the violent crime and property crime units of the Austin Police Department, including: Robbery, Homicide, Child Abuse, Sex Crimes and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the APD.I served as liaison for FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, conducting complex investigations initiated by the FBI involving potential acts of violence. I also conducted fraud and compliance investigations for the department.➥ I built a dedicated team of 8 analysts accountable for over $1 million of equipment.➥ Our unit was selected Unit of the Year, with a 40% increase in cases solved.➥ I reviewed 300+ violent crime and sensitive issue reports from 2,300 patrol officers on a daily basis, cross-referencing reports with crimes under investigation to identify suspects and assist with investigations and interviews. ➥ I coordinated all investigations with internal divisions and external agencies at the state and federal levels, produced search warrants and arrest affidavits, conducted covert operations and led interviews.➥ I responded to subpoenas, local prosecutors, attorneys and police agencies at the federal and state levels.➥ Together with my unit, I reduced violent and property crime in the greater Austin area by more than 35% using social media, data analysis and ethical investigation tactics. ➥ I was invited by federal law enforcement agencies to set up social media programs and taught courses in social media investigations.➥ I created a successful triage system that allowed any investigator to parse through over 600 daily violent crime reports.➥ I taught agencies and police departments how to look for criminal content on social media and how to navigate legal processes to obtain the data they need from major platforms.

As Detective in charge of Robbery and Violent Crime, I supervised investigations of armed robberies, aggravated robberies, aggravated assault and property related crimes. I saw accountable for interviewing suspects and witnesses, collecting evidence, preparing arrest affidavits and executing search warrants of homes, vehicles, social media and mobile phones.I thoroughly investigated hundreds of crimes using social media platforms and conducted accident reconstructions and investigations as they related to robberies, burglaries and carjackings. I also conducted comprehensive investigations involving the mining and collection of illegal data on social media.

As a Supervisor, I was accountable for managing and supporting 10+ patrol officers; providing continuous tactical and legal training to identify criminal activity on social media and analyze all data retrieved. I also responded to and conducted investigations involving allegations of police misconduct and policy violations.I regularly reviewed reports, arrest affidavits, and use-of-force documents and served as patrol division instructor.➥ I conducted briefings for executive staff and members of the local media.➥ I successfully reduced crime rates by over 30% in my designated area.
