Oct 2022 - Present

Vice President, Digital Health And Innovation

Louisville, Kentucky, Us

In July 2022, I assumed a new leadership role while continuing to oversee Humana’s Pharmacy operations until January 2023, and I maintained elements of this role within my Home Solutions role until the end of 2023. A key achievement during this period was the advancement of Humana’s FHIR capabilities, including the delivery of bulk FHIR capabilities for plan pricing. Additionally, I modernized the SQL environment supporting Humana’s medical records system, ensuring scalability and stability for this essential infrastructure. From inception, I led the Integrated Health/CenterWell 1.0 initiative, driving strategy, securing funding, and assembling teams. This initiative aims to create differentiated experiences by leveraging multiple CenterWell assets (Home, RX, and Primary Care) to enhance member engagement. I identified opportunities by analyzing pain points, friction across segments, and data analytics needs, which resulted in securing initial funding for what has become one of Humana’s top strategic objectives. Additionally, I led the CenterWell Innovation and Architecture teams. The innovation team explored emerging technologies, including VR training for Home Health clinicians, applications for blockchain, IOT and devices in the Home, and tech modernization strategies. The architecture team focused on unifying data and tech strategies across RX, Home, and Primary Care. We developed a comprehensive data architecture for CenterWell, and my team drove the initial discovery efforts that identified the optimal technology to bring these segments together. This work culminated in alignment on a Master Data Management solution with a contract to implement in place establishing a foundational data platform to support future innovation.Another key partnership I developed was with Availity, where we expanded existing capabilities and identified new market opportunities. My team successfully delivered a complete suite of payor dental capabilities for Humana.

Call Center Technology Manager

Louisville, Kentucky, Us

Demonstrating a progressive career trajectory, I advanced from an IVR Analyst to the Call Center Technology Manager role within Humana. Throughout this journey, I earned recognition as a trusted employee, ultimately taking on comprehensive responsibilities managing IVR, CTI, call recording, workforce management, and chat technologies. A key accomplishment during my tenure was the innovative approach I took to Medicare Advantage enrollments. In the early days of Medicare Advantage, beneficiaries could only enroll through licensed agents or approved technology processes. Faced with the challenge of meeting increasing demand without the ability to hire enough licensed agents, I led the development of a fully featured voice technology solution that allowed Humana to capture outsized market share. This pioneering technology not only streamlined the enrollment process but also positioned Humana as a leader in this burgeoning market.Leveraging my previous experience in telecommunications at Sprint, I advanced our IVR to call center agent screen pop technology. By partnering with AT&T, I successfully enhanced our system to transmit additional data alongside voice calls, ensuring that critical information was preserved and accessible during call transfers. This improvement not only increased the efficiency of our call handling but also significantly enhanced the customer experience, allowing agents to provide more informed and timely support.Played a pivotal role in DR planning and execution during a critical DR event. I led the successful migration of all call center technology (IVRs, CTI, Call Recording, WFM) between data centers during this incident caused by a water main break. This move was completed during Humana’s Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, a time when operational uptime is vital for business growth, and maintained 100% availability to operational staff. My efforts were recognized with a Humana CEO Award for exceptional leadership.
