Brian Cain is currently responsible for overseeing business development-related activities, as well as, sales & client relationship activities in the Boston area for Bionova Scientific, LLC.Brian joins Bionova after spending a year with Resilience where he was responsible for developing business opportunities for the Biologics & Vaccines franchise, as well as, performing business development activities for Catalent's Biologics Analytical Services Team three years prior to his employment at Resilience.Prior to Catalent, Brian also worked at Aragen Bioscience, Inc. (a GVK BIO Company) where he was responsible for developing business opportunities in the pharmaceutical R&D market with a focus on accelerating product development with high quality science, professionalism and innovation. Brian spent most of his time selling Aragen’s integrated service offerings which included antibody discovery, antibody humanization, recombinant protein production & purification, protein analytics, cell-based assays, in vivo models of disease and stable cell line development.Prior to Aragen, Brian spent nearly two years at ACD (Advanced Cell Diagnostics) developing business relationships & creating new opportunities for selling Products & Services related to ACD's RNAscope technology platform in the New England territory. Before joining ACD, Brian spent five and a half years at Blue Sky BioServices, Inc. in Worcester, MA where he was primarily responsible for managing BioServices customer relationships & developing sales strategies for new services & products. Just prior to joining Blue Sky, Brian also spent six years at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, Inc. (NIBRI) in Cambridge, MA, working in a variety of roles within the Novartis Oncology Department which included assay development, focused library screening and global operations. Eventually Brian joined Novartis’ Strategic External Resourcing group where he was responsible for global biology outsourcing. Prior to that, he spent two years as an Assay Development scientist at Arradial, Inc. where he oversaw the development, validation & miniaturization of various kinase & phosphatase assays on a novel liquid-handling platform.Brian earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics from the Tufts University School of Medicine where he studied the processing of neuronal precursor proteins in the brain, as well as, the convertases that cleaved those proteins into smaller bioactive peptides.
