I currently work for the Air Force Materiel Command as an Aviation Safety Program Manager. Mishap investigation QC, Safety training, program management and inspection are my main areas. Every MDS in the inventory at some time comes through AFMC, and the RDT&E process never ceases to amaze me. I do miss the wing-level stuff working the flightline and getting to be around the big jets and crews. I retired from the Air Force as an instructor flight engineer with my last five years as a flight safety investigator. I was program manager for several aviation safety related programs including wildlife and avian management, mid-air collision avoidance, mishap investigation, as well as a host of FAA safety related programs. While in the military I held a TS clearance.I have served as a civilian police officer, firefighter and EMT and am trained in the fields of personnel, physical and information security. Switching gears, I was ordained a permanent deacon in the Catholic Church in 2010 and served as a fire chaplain.Specialties: Aircraft mishap investigation, jet engine mishap investigation, aviation safety program management, airfield wildlife management, aircraft systems instruction, flight crew management and training.
