As an Account Manager at Great Western Valve, I enjoy being the face of the company. Through daily interaction with customers, I have developed a strong understanding of what it takes to be successful as a salesman, account manager, and project manager. I have worked through difficult situations and complicated problems to resolve issues and continue building strong working relationships with both my customers and operations teams. Often times, I find myself caught in the middle between the two, and through these challenging moments I have developed talents that I believe will make me a far better businessman. I am equipped with the knowhow to manage both customers and employees and will use this opportunity to continue to grow personally, as well as professionally. My core responsibilities and business role can be described as follows. First, my job is to bring in new customers, develop existing customers, and maintain key accounts. I serve to understand the customers demands, plan how to meet those demands, and generate sales for the company as a result. This requires that I proactively assess, clarify, and validate my client’s needs as well as forecast and track account metrics for my operations team. Another major responsibility is to establish myself as the primary point of contact in coordinating the involvement of proper company personnel, depending on the product line or scope of work being performed. This includes bringing in additional support, lining up field service jobs and working with operations to meet large projects deadlines. I am also expected to communicate information regarding my operations team status on all jobs, as well as manage my customers expectations and resolve conflicts as they occur. Lastly, I maintain a harmonious working relationship with numerous subcontractors and my individual facilities working on multi stage projects for customers across the Gulf Coast.

    Ctsr - Sales
    Cameron Jul 2013 - Aug 2015
    Houston, Tx, Us
During my time in the operations role of inside sales, I had the opportunity to work in conjunction with many different departments and learned a lot about how a business is run. I had many responsibilities during my tenure, and some of the main responsibilities are as follows. My first responsibility was to receive the customer order and see that it was pushed through the manufacturing process exactly as requested and delivered to the customer on time. I did this by establishing a production schedule, coordinating inventory needs with my supply chain team, and lining up delivery with logistics partners. I kept track of a variety of different categories of equipment, including rental equipment, customer property, and new equipment. As the scope of the work varied considerably for each category, I kept a log of specific requests and ensured they were implemented as needed. Another core responsibility I had was to maintain accurate inventory levels. I did this by continuously revising forecasted orders for coming months, quarter, and the year. Then, based on those numbers I would order inventory and maintain safety stock levels as needed. I was also responsible for carrying out invoicing, maintaining various financial reports, and analyzing the results of those reports. In turn, the operations team as a whole would use them in our process improvement initiatives. Lastly, I assisted in the implementation of those aforementioned process improvement initiatives, established an effective quality control system, and trained new inside sales staff.

This program is designed to recognize candidates that show potential for management, and present them with challenges that will shape the individual into a strong and well equipped leader. I was fortunate enough to be recognized as someone showing promise, and as a result, acquired the SMTP initials as the part of my job title. Eventually, I was even recognized as the stand out for my district, and invited to share my experience with upper management. Becoming an SMTP at Cameron certainly increased the projector my career was heading in, and allowed me to experience some very exciting opportunities.

    Service Technician
    Cameron Feb 2012 - Jul 2013

My primary responsibilities as a Service Technician were to provide technical services at customer well locations. Specifically, I would build iron, install equipment, repair equipment, and operate tools/equipment. I would also consult customers on what options they had available to them given our various product lines. I would provide these services at all phases of the life of a well including drilling, completion, and production. This role gave me a tremendous amount of exposure interfacing directly with the customer. As a result I was able to build skills in how to properly communicate with the customer, meet their needs/deadlines, manage conflicts, and solve problems in the moment and under pressure.
