Leading a small team of Developers maintaining and improving an existing (Legacy) system written in the Vectus Suite My responsibilities were to manage the development of the Companies existing case management software allowing the pre-existing development team to devote themselves to writing the new system. This requires a lot of time spent discussing requirements and limitations of the existing system with Partners within the firm as well as other members of the IT Department. Managing the end users and management’s expectations of the current system as well as scheduling the development, testing and release of new upgrades and fixes to the system, co-ordinating all resources, such as testers and trainers etc. to ensure resources are utilised to the greatest effect.

Working as part of a small team, discussing and creating specifications with new and exisitng Clients for upgrades and modifications to existing Systems. Once Specifications have been agreed it is my role to implement the new systems as well as provide all training and Documentation on Client Sites as well as running several in-house training Courses.

Working as part of a two man team my main responsibilities were the maintenance of existing systems in the case management workflows (Proclaim) as well as implementing larger third party software integrations and training Staff.Case management software updates were carried out on a regular basis and substantial updates to the standards and documentation previously used at the firm were introduced. Delivering the bulk of internal training courses from Induction training to Word and Outlook in one to one and group training courses for Staff (From Admin to Senior management where appropriate).

Working as part of a small IT team my primary responsibility was maintenance and Development of the third party case management software (Videss). Providing first and second line support to end users, PC setup and installation, as well as various peripherals such as digital dictation set up, e-Conferencing equipment etc and enforcing the group policies via Active Directory systems. Training course from initial induction training and specific Word and Outlook training for end users and Senior Partners in the Firm.Several internal systems were rewritten using the Visual Studio 2005 development Suite and were introduced giving me valuable insight into the specification and development of systems from first conception to actual deployment and training of Key personnel as well as writing training manuals and subsequent development of these systems.Case Management experience, extensive modification and streamlining of the existing, outdated Conveyancing and remortgage workflows, including the additions of integrating IE7 Links into the workflow processes for searches and Money Laundering checks and the introduction of several smaller bespoke workflows for various departments. Eventually developing a strong interest in the Systems Analysis side of the work, particularly when designing new workflows and practices for departments that had previously been under utilising the software.
