Leading a dynamic team of field engineers to exceed targets, orchestrating team meetings, providing hands-on coaching and development, adeptly handling escalated issues, and overseeing both low-level and high-level formal meetings for effective customer service resolution.I am an integral part of the Health & Well-being team, collaborating with Team Managers across Scotland and the North of England. Our focus is on mental and physical health, implementing processes to optimize our team’s performance. The Development Specialist role focuses on three main aspects. Delivery of learning solutions, Facilitation and Coaching both our Engineers in the field as well as Advisors on the floor. From roped access and roof work with our engineers to sales training with colleagues in our contact centres this position allows me to focus on the development of talent within Sky ensuring consistency in our behaviours throughout the workforce. I travel around the UK regularly to deliver at our different sites wherever I am needed.

I began a secondment in January to the training team during which I delivered training to engineers. The courses vary greatly from broadband and AV television systems, Health and Safety including working at height, mindset and positive thinking. This role has allowed me to gain a far better understanding of the wider systems and departments at Sky and has given me the oppurtunity to get involved in a variety of projects. The role requires a high level of facilitation and presentation skills.

Upon succesful application for the role of specialist engineer withing Sky I had further training which allowed me to complete Special access tasks primarily through roped access. I began installing and servicing systems for businesses such as bars and clubs for Sky. The role of specialist engineer also required me to coach and assist other engineers in the region when they encounter difficulties. Fitting wireless internet coverage in businesses and optimising the hardware for better coverage.

I was successful in my application for a seconded position to work with the fleet management team as a fleet coordinator. I helped to manage the day to day admin of approx 3000 vehicles and acted as a point of contact between sky and third party companies which repaired and mantained our fleet of vans. This position also allowed me to take part in discussions and projects relating to future procurement of vehicles.

Worked as an Installation engineer, Installing and servicing satellite TV systems in domestic customers homes. High degree of soft skills and a technical knowledge of AV systems. This role requires a thorough understanding of health and safety knowledge and the ability to apply it practically in changing situations.

Driving a category C vehicle and delivering furniture items to customers homes. Focussing on customer interaction including taking payments and resolving customer issues on site.

Area systems operator. The role was setting up, maintaining and monitoring a trunk communications network within the field. I was required to work often on my own or as part of a small team either connected to a larger headquarters or on our own. This required me to have a category C+E licence and to maintain a large vehicle fitted with comms equipment. I spent time in Canada, Falkland Islands and Iraq during my service.
