Senior Android Developer

Calgary, Alberta, Ca

For the first year+ at Replicon I was sole Android developer for the Replicon CloudClock product (http://www.replicon.com/time-clock). I was responsible for the development of the client product that runs on an Android tablet, and took the product from early development through product launch and subsequent feature releases. I evolved the product from intially running solely on the Samsung Tab (on the Froyo OS, not designed for tablets), through all modern releases of Android.I utilized the Samsung Mobile Device Management APIs to turn the app into a true Kiosk for the device, and built the client backend to enable Replicon servers to push updates to customers devices and install without requiring customer intervention. For 3+ years I was the team lead on the CloudClock product for a geographically diverse team of developers. In addition to building new features to the original product, we developed an entirely new version of the product utilizing Replicon's NextGen web services (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.replicon.cloudclock).I worked with PM to refine requirements for Sprint stories, and I mentored junior developers on the team. I worked to increase cross-team collaboration with the team building Replicon's Mobile app, and occasionally contributed to that project. I pushed myself and my team to Unit Test all their code, to keep up with evolving Android OS and tools, and to investigate emerging mobile technologies. In order to monitor the Cloud Clocks, I designed and built a Ruby on Rails app using Amazon services (EC2, DynamoDB, Cognito, Elastic Beanstalk) that receives frequent status updates from every clock and displays the status for Customer Service to monitor and respond to.Technologies employed: Dagger Dependency Injection Library, Butterknife View Injection library, Robolectric Unit Test Framework
