Successfully completed leading a 5-year effort (multi-million dollar budget) to merge an organization of 43k Active Directory accounts into the Providence environment - the largest integration in Providence history. This particular integration involved connecting and integrating conflicting private networks before migrating userids and computers from one environment to the other. During the entire process, legacy and target applications access was maintained. This principal level promotion was in recognition of an exemplary work history and the achievements made in this very large, complex project.

Managed 2-4 diverse teams over the course of 10 years:• Infrastructure Applications: 4 senior engineers in Oregon responsible for: Active Directory, naming services (WINS, DNS, DHCP), certificate authority services, network integration and acquisitions.• Enterprise Monitoring: 4 specialists in Oregon responsible for server OS monitoring and ticket routing for approximately 3,000 UNIX, Linux, and Windows servers. Monitoring applications include BMC Patrol, Groundwork, Insight Manager, and What’s up Gold.• Windows Server Teams in Alaska and Washington: 12 engineers spread throughout Western Washington and Alaska responsible for supporting approximately 1,100 Windows2X servers - VMware, HP Blades and DL series HP servers.• Email Services Group: 2 engineer/analysts who centrally managed messaging environment for approximately 40,000 mailboxes across four states. MS Exchange, Blackberry Server, Secure mail (Kryptiq), Spam filtering (Proof Point), instant messaging (Microsoft). Provided guidance and direction for the operational activities and services. Built roadmaps for each technology area to push toward modernizing and standardizing the computing environments.

Migrated entire organization from NT 4.0 to AD native mode Win2000 and later 2003.• Email Services Group: 2 engineer/analysts who centrally managed messaging environment for approximately 40,000 mailboxes across four states. MS Exchange, Blackberry Server, Secure mail (Kryptiq), Spam filtering (Proof Point), instant messaging (Microsoft). Exchange mail system, Instant messaging, spam filter. Migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003.

Led team of email administrators across four geographic regions. Set policy and procedures for messaging support and maintenance. Was escalation point for issues . Eventually led migration from distributed messaging servers to centralized model. Introduced instant messaging to the organization. Made natural transition from managing Exchange to managing Active Directory as seen in job progression.

Worked with team to certify mail systems to integrate with Unix based mail hub application that translated email communications between Banyon Vines, GroupWise, Exchange, and ccMail mail systems. Worked on team to migrate all systems (50,000 mailboxes) to centralized Microsoft Exchange platform. Was promoted from GS-5 to GS12 within 5-year span
