I was employed as a Project Manager within Howden Process Compressors within the Oil & Gas Markets working to API specifications. My current responsibilities include ensuring high value Projects are delivered on time, to budget and maintaining the sales margin. I achieve this by closely monitoring the spending on the project, ensuring that purchases are to budget and specification and delivered in line with the project plan that I develop. I am in constant contact with the engineering team and chair project meetings as required. In this position I have also created specifications for engineered parts that fell with the Project Managers remit. I travel to client’s offices and facilities throughout the World to discuss their projects. Where required I also supply clients with monthly progress reports. Clients that I have successfully handled projects for include Shell Eastern Petroleum Singapore, Thai Oil Public Ltd, Alstom Power Italia, Cabot Corp and Xstrata Technology Ltd.

In my role as Warranty Engineer, I was responsible for all Warranty Issues on new built equipment. I would arrange for replacement parts and service engineers to attend site for remedial work and keep the Customer up to date with the progress of the work. I also monitored the costs of the work to ensure that it was within the Warranty Budget.

During my time as a Project Manager for Oil & Gas within Weir Pumps Ltd, my daily role was to ensure that my projects ran to plan and cost. I achieved this by working with the manufacturing and purchasing departments and ensuring that deadlines were met. I handled projects with values in excess of £4M. I was also responsible for keeping my customers informed on the progress of their projects, customers included BP and Lukoil.

As a Proposal Engineer in the Oil & Gas Department for Weir Pumps, I was responsible for reading Industry (API); Customer Specific Specifications, obtaining compliant supplier quotes, completing customer datasheets, costing and producing high quality, high value tenders for engineered products within the Weir Pumps range. I have produced tenders ranging in value from £5,000 to £10M. In this role I dealt with customers, contractors and suppliers directly, these included companies such as Shell, Snamprogetti Italy, Technip France and Jacobs Engineering.
