I joined the BabyDam team in 2023 as a consultant director, having worked with the founders for the previous three years.My remit was to help drive business development and growth. I focused initially on utilising data and technology as a driving force. During my time in this hybrid role I implemented numerous new data processes to capture, monitor and improve reporting and monitoring processes. This data helped to form the new business model and form the basis of the strategy document for 23/24 I delivered 2 new website projects. One for the UK market as the previous website sales had dropped and a second, brand new site for the EU market where sales were previously only on a B2B basis. The new UK website saw sales increase month by month.I lead a project to increase the company's presence on additional marketplaces to increase market share within the UK. At my time of leaving we were taking new sales on one marketplace with another about to launch in December 2023.I also worked closely with third party resources, managing their workload and setting responsibilities. I tracked their performance and worked closely with them to monitor any changes to the market and be prepared for crucial business periods, such as Black Friday and other peak times. A key part of my role was also on research and development. During the year I looked at the underlying technology within the organisation and implemented many new improvements such as the switch of email infrastructure, remote access ability for warehouse management and implementing a new CMS, which was previously missing. This remit was not limited to technology as I also worked closely with the business development director to develop a new, revolutionary version of the core BabyDam product from the American market. The product had launched in America previously however, due to design issues and an incompatibility with American bathtubs, a new concept ws required. This is due to be launched in Q2 of 2024.

Working closely with the Managing Director I was the technical lead on new projects into the business. I met regularly with multiple project stakeholders, working on all technical aspects of the projects to ensure the smooth resolution to all issues. I worked closely with the team’s web developers to provide oversight and leadership to web projects. I helped to guide numerous development projects, offering technical support when required on more complex tasks. I leaded into my planning and technical background to provide detailed project briefs and timelines that worked for both Succeed and the client to ensure the best possible result for the client's budget and timeframe. I regularly sat in on sales meetings to provide technical oversight in layman's terms. I also provided technical website breakdowns and audits for multiple clients detailing current issues and proposing best-in-class solutions.

Working as a full stack, Ruby on Rails developer within the remote development team. My primary focus was on the development of the core research platform. I worked on multiple elements of the application, having a part to play in the server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the core database. I worked on various elements of the application, developing new features and updating legacy code.My final project was to go through all legacy code elements to update all jQuery references for removal and implementation of native JavaScript. We also regularly performed code, peer reviews of all submitted commits within the team.Core skills included, Ruby on Rails, Html5, JavaScript. Working remotely, time management and communication were vital.

I was accountable for the development of multiple web sites and applications for a Bafta award winning media company. Working closely with the Creative director and across multiple teams we produced some visually stunning and content rich web applications. I joined Radium in a newly created position, in a time of growth for the company and helped to mould to the role to better support projects moving forward. I implemented some key development principles such as the use of Git source control for development projects.I worked on some successful projects during my time. One was a revolutionary internal recruitment site for sound engineers where we built an integrated web application system that took users through a submission workflow with iterative feedback after multiple submission stages. Another was an eCommerce site for clients. Inspired by Spotify and SoundCloud we built a JavaScript based player page for our products where users could listen to our Foley tacks and sounds, including multiple sub-tracks and alternate versions. Each track would play in the browser and we used the wavesurfer.js to provide visual feedback on the track detail. This was an excellent project to work on.I also took the lead on a server analysis project, benchmarking our applications, making improvements and structure recommendations.Technologies used include, PHP, WordPress, WooCommerce, Ruby, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery.

Within this high profile role at South Devon College at the then number one ranked higher education college in the country, I held responsibility for all public facing web presences.I worked with all areas of the college and stakeholders, from apprentices to the principalship, governors and commercial partners. I held a key role in progressing our web branding and presence during my time in the role. There were many exciting challenges we faced working within an education establishment, from limitations on internal technology and software, namely old versions of IE to navigating the decision making process. The IE versioning issue and legacy versions of our alternate internal browser lead to some creative workarounds to ensure our internal traffic received a new and vibrant experience when using our public website as our target audience using their browsers and devices at home. My greatest accomplishment in my role was the development of the course management system I built using Ruby on Rails. This application was used college wide to add courses to our web presences. This application successfully replaced the unloved legacy course management software. Working with the rest of the web team and all stakeholders I designed and implemented this system from scratch. I enjoyed working with a full stack range of technologies including, PHP, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, SASS, LESS and Ajax.Part of my remit was to also provide third level support and advice on all college related web products and internal Ruby systems. I also worked closely with the lead developer Kevin Hughes on the LEAP project, http://leap-ilp.com. The popularity of this project lead to us implementing it in other colleges throughout the UK

As the Assistant branch manager my role was vital in the success of this new venture. As the first of its kind, the Bristol branch was a pilot for company growth having been previously based solely in Portsmouth. Utilising my experience in retail management I worked closely with the branch manager to lead on the new business growth. This included among other aspects, local area promotion and in store event management and promotions.. I was responsible for new staff training and empowerment, staff recruitment, stock management. I held joint responsibility for all in-store finances and banking. I was the branch fire safety officer, key account holder and first emergency contact designate. The role was also extremely customer facing, leaning into my personable skill for communication and adaptability. I also dealt with customer queries and complaints along with product sales and consultations.

I was the section manager for one of the busiest petrol forecourts in the country as well as duty manager for the store or the front end manager for evening shifts on a weekly basis. I brought Vehicle Licence Plate Recognition to Tesco in the south west and was able to reduce petrol financial loss from drive offs by over 120% through the new licence plate system and increased training for staff.I was also fully trained and acted as duty manager during my career at Lee Mill, holding responsibility for this multi million pound store on numerous occasions.

Working on an isolated project I was tasked with building a small database system to help the council manage their IT hardware at external locations. I designed and built and Microsoft Visual Basic application where all data could be logged and processed per site.

Day to day I worked on sales and customer service for Annington. Showing potential customers around the properties, scheduling appointments around client schedules.Liaising between the buyers and sellers on all aspects of the listings, from dealing with multiple other estate agencies to mortgage companies and solicitors.Ensuring properties were in optimal condition visits and final purchases. Dealing with any potential issues in the condition of the property and managing renovation teams to ensure all works required were completed in a timely manner and on schedule.Attending numerous open events and multiple sites around the country.
